Natalia Grosner hit me up to show off some of her art and it felt like a match made in heaven!!
She silkscreens on watercolor paper and paints over the prints so each one is unique in it's own way. Her latest series consists of rap lyrics with food imagery but she also does amazing fashion referenced illustrations. I'd love to see a "No pork on my fork strictly fish on my dish", that would be pretty awesome!!!

Artist Nadia Plesner is being sued by powerhouse LVMH, owners of Louis Vuitton for the image above. She's using the image of this Darfur victim holding a chihuahua and a Louis Vuitton type bag, so they want to sue her for it......BULLSHIT

Fashion designer by day and artist by night, Paridee K.'s profession is in the fashion game but "hearts" art. Paridee earned not one, but two degrees for Illustration/painting and Fashion Design. She's been designing for the streetwear game for a living but homegirls passion for fashion is probably for the check! LOL! Her blog is sick and has so many paintings and drawings in her collection! You would really be missing out it you dont take a peek! She's apart of a Skateboard Art show in NYC Dec 21 (post to come) so she's going to be reppin for the fab-femme-fetales!
Her style is a unique perspective of life, her love of animal, her perception of the goodness in people and her sense of humor. She finds the time to volunteer at the Administrative of Children Services of NYC, where she gets to play with kids stuck in the system on Saturday's. This is probably the most recognizable picture of the awesome threesome, Millions of you have it all over your myspace, studied those threads and give ur little b-girl stance to imitate this famous staple but how many of you actually know the name of the Photographer who shot this??
Well here's an oppurtunity to pay dues to some photographers who were able to document Hip-Hop in a way that would influence so many of us for years to come.
PowerHouse , is having an Exhibit that will end this sunday over at PowerHouse Arena in Dumbo.
They will be showcasing photos like the one above of Janette Beckman , who photographed numerous Hip Hop Icons in the late 80's-early 90's.
And Bronx Bred Photographer Joe Conzo here's a little taste of his work below, but please make sure to come through and get some culcha'.

Here at ATWG's we're always trying to find new ways to put you on, so we now have a new feature, our favorite little fashion enterprise in the making Phafa, will be drawing out pics that I (Radio Rose) style and put together for every girl with every fashion need.

We have the "On the Block Girl"- she's not your average chick around the block, always with fresh kicks, always with her doorknockers, standing by the bus stop sucking on a lollipop , she's that fly girl we all are, that is just up on her game, but still wants to feel comfortable while she's walking to the train.

Then comes the "On her way girl"- this girl is discovering everything fashion has to offer, she opens her fashion palette wide open and tastes a little bit of everyone, from Vintage shops to Bergdorf she knows how to make it work without typecasting herself.

And finally we have our "Moved on Up girl- she's who we will someday become, some may call her Boojie, but in reality she's worked hard and likes to have nice things, nice expensive things! She never forgets where she came from but she's too grown to not look her absolute best everytime she walks out that door.

The most expensive head you'll ever have to pay for

British artist Damien Hirst has create what to date, is the most expensive piece of art, priced at $98,000,000 ($98 million), I don't see too many people running to include this in their Den.Who can truly afford this? Maybe the Queen and a few Middle eastern oil pushers.
Besides asking myself who has $98 million to spare,I started to think of what I would do if I had it, would I keep it in my Brooklyn Apartment? maybe it would scare of potential theives when they see a shiny skull. Or i may have to upgrade wouldn't I.
Also, How does this 18th century, 35 yr old dude feel about having his skull covered in Diamonds, i think I would be pretty pissed knowing some dude is pimping my head off to get paid.


Damien Hirst who is known for his shock value works, also had his work included in the SENSATION! exhibit back in 2000,remember Guliani wanted to stop giving funds to the museum becuase of a non-orthodox Virgin Mary picture that was in the Brooklyn Museum. He had a few Cows and Sharks in Formalhydide that resembled the pics below. I creeped the hell out of me , in a good way.

I, the forever Graffitti Groupie, get so excited whenever I come across Graffitti articles on my favorite websites. Style.com has a great picture gallery on my favorite female artists, Claw, Siloette, Fafi, Lady Pink, Swoon, TooFly , Miss van and a few others including Banksy (the only gentleman mentioned).
